Brenda recently developed an infection in her right ear. Head shakes, pathetic little whimpers and squeals when touched and a putrid smell of yeast has confirmed the diagnosis. The last time she had an ear infection I ordered ointment called Pellitol from an an online canine pharmacy. This time around I pumped her ear full of it. I don't know what smells worse, the yeast growing inside her canal or the ointment designed to kill it.
Pellitol is supposed to ease discomfort and I think it did immediately. It's a thick gooey substance, though, and while I administered it days ago some still remains. I've been cleaning her ear drum out with shots of a vinegar-water mix to try to clean it completely.
At least she's is not squealing when I touch her ear anymore!
