eBay Experience

We got a lot of really good stuff donated for our last sidewalk sale to raise funds for Brenda’s care. Some of the items were very expensive leather jackets and boots, electronics and accessories that were in pristine shape.

Thinking we could get more money for these things than the amounts being offered on the street, I stashed select items away and soon after started posting them on eBay. I had visions of making a thousand dollars or more…until I actually started the auction process.

I’m convinced that people play eBay as if it were any other computer game, waiting until the last minute to bid on items they want so they are sure to get the starting price, tracking items and trends and sellers with an experience that only comes from practice.

I am not so patient, wise or practiced at playing eBay so most of my items didn’t sell at all. The ones that did sold for $20 or less.
