This morning, I got Brenda out of her crate with relatively little fanfare and put her muzzle on so Ben could take her on her morning walk. (I wanted to go for a run with Porter and Sadie.) As I was putting Brenda back inside the crate, her muzzle snagged on the latch and came off her face, though remained attached around her head. She was stuck in a very awkward position and I didn't trust that if I tried to free her she wouldn't bit me.
Instead, I yelled some obscenity and stormed out of the bedroom. I returned a few minutes later and she had ripped herself free and ran under the bed. Desperate to get out for my run so I could get back in time to make it to a yoga class, I threw a bunch of Honey Nut Cheerios (Brenda's favorite) on the ground and left the room again. By the time Porter and Sadie and I were finished with our run, Brenda had extracted herself from under the bed to munch on the cereal and I was able to get the muzzle back on her.
I was ten minutes late to my class.
