Got 'em!

Brenda's visit to the vet was successful. She has been prescribed buspar and has already taken one dose. I gave it to her and then we went on a fabulous walk. No incidents and aside from some minor pulling, Brenda was an overall pleasant companion. I'm convinced that having her on anti-anxiety meds is helping my anxiety when I'm around her. Trickle down theory?

I can't wait to see what happens next. This seems to be the big break through that you have been hoping for.
Do you think that life will calm down and Brenda will begin to fit in more peacefully with her sibs? Does she show any signs of accepting Ben for who he is, her master chef, loving dog-dad and secret Santa? I can't wait for the next posting. I feel so hopeful.

The drugs seem to be mellowing Brenda out. It's rather early to tell the extent of how helpful the meds will actually be but her barking at night has almost ceased, which has been allowing us to get more sleep.

She also seems to be much more kind to Ben. He took her for a walk today with very little trouble. I think she gave him some attitude but no real aggression. A slight attitude problem will probably just be a part of her personality!
