Awaiting Ben’s Return

Ben spent the entire month in San Francisco. I thought it’d give Brenda a nice break from the emotional turmoil of having Ben around, and while I think it was nice for her, nobody else had a very good time. Before Ben’s departure I planned on housebreaking Brenda, keeping Porter and Sadie on a strict schedule and otherwise getting everything else I needed to accomplish every day. It didn’t happen. I almost used an entire daycare package, awoke to globs of poop all over my apartment (every morning) and sprinted along the West Side Highway in order to reach everyone’s daily exercise quota. It’s nice to have Ben back--to help walk the dogs but to also make their food (he makes it from scratch each week), do the laundry, cook for me and make me yummy cocktails.
